We are seeking a hands-on IT & Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading Irish multinational environment. This role is primarily focused on cybersecurity operations, governance, and security accreditation, with additional responsibility across general IT support and infrastructure.
Cybersecurity is the core focus of this position. You will take ownership of security accreditation and certification programmes while continuously improving the organisation’s security maturity in line with recognised industry frameworks.
This role also contributes across broader IT operations in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) and support ISO 27001 alignment
- Manage and improve security controls across firewalls, endpoints, servers, and cloud services
- Administer Microsoft security tools including Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and Sentinel
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and NIS2 requirements
- Support audits, penetration testing, and security evidence collection
- Maintain security policies, procedures, and standards
- Provide escalation support for IT systems (M365, Azure, AD, VMware/vCentre)
- Deliver security awareness training across the business
Requirements
- 5+ years’ IT experience with a strong cybersecurity focus
- Experience with ISO 27001, CE+, CIS or NIST frameworks
- Strong knowledge of IAM, MFA, firewalls, endpoint security, and vulnerability management
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and Sentinel
- Understanding of GDPR and NIS2
- Experience supporting audits and security documentation
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Security certifications (e.g. Security+, SSCP)
- ISO 27001 or ISMS implementation experience
- SOC or incident response experience
- Sentinel/SIEM operations experience
