Job Title: IT Support Engineer (Service Desk / Desktop Support) – 6 Month Contract
Location: Hybrid – Co. Mayo, Ireland (Castlebar / Ballina area)
Contract: 6 Months +

Overview
We are hiring an experienced IT Support Engineer / Service Desk Engineer / Desktop Support Engineer for a 6-month hybrid contract in Co. Mayo. You will be the first point of contact for staff requiring IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and system issues while delivering high-quality customer service. This role combines remote and on-site support to ensure staff can work efficiently and securely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first and second-level IT support for staff across hardware, software, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows desktops, laptops, and applications.
  • Support and administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), and Azure Portal tasks.
  • Install, configure, and support desktop operating systems and new user equipment.
  • Maintain accurate asset management records and ICT documentation.
  • Create and update knowledge base articles to enable self-service and reduce repeat incidents.
  • Manage software deployment and updates across user devices.
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and technology providers on escalated issues.
  • Ensure all support activities follow IT security policies and best practices.
 

Required Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in IT support, service desk, or desktop support roles.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory (on-prem and Azure AD / Entra).
  • Experience using helpdesk ticketing systems and remote support tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows environments.
  • Experience supporting printers, phones, and end-user devices.
