Ready to build software that keeps global financial markets moving?

Our client, a leading global asset management company, is growing its Technology Solutions team in Letterkenny. With new senior leadership and big plans ahead, this is a chance to step into a role where your work genuinely matters.

You’ll help design and build scalable applications used by Back and Middle Office teams across the business. Think real-world impact. Real users. Real scale.

This is a hybrid role based in Letterkenny, with a mix of onsite and remote working.

Donegal gives you the best of both worlds: stunning Atlantic coastline, mountains, and beaches on your doorstep, with a relaxed pace of life that’s hard to beat.

You’ll enjoy lower living costs, shorter commutes, and a real sense of community without sacrificing access to strong career opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

You won’t just be coding tickets. You’ll help shape solutions end-to-end.

  • Design and build Java (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud) applications

  • Develop Python-based data processing layers and REST APIs

  • Create clean, scalable, well-tested code that stands the test of time

  • Work closely with product owners to turn business needs into robust solutions

  • Collaborate with tech leads on architecture and design decisions

  • Write unit, integration, and automation tests

  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide Level 3 support when needed

  • Simplify tools and reduce technical complexity where you see it

  • Champion modern tech and help retire legacy stacks

You’ll work as part of a delivery team — analysing stories, designing solutions, building, testing, and supporting them in production.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and taking ownership.

  • 7+ years’ experience building software (Java and/or Python)

  • Strong Java (Spring) and/or Python API development experience

  • Solid SQL skills (MS SQL Server preferred)

  • Experience building cloud-based applications (AWS or Azure)

  • Comfortable debugging, integrating with third-party services, and writing scalable code

  • Experience supporting business-critical systems

  • Strong analytical mindset and clear communication style

Experience in financial services — especially Fixed Income, trade lifecycle, compliance, or reporting would be a bonus, but it’s not essential.

Why this role?

  • Work on enterprise-grade systems with real business impact

  • Join a collaborative, technically strong team

  • Exposure to cloud, modern architecture, and global stakeholders

  • Hybrid working model

  • Competitive salary and benefits package

  • Clear opportunity to broaden your skills and influence technical direction

If you enjoy ownership, modern engineering practices, and building systems that need to perform under pressure — this could be a great move.
