We are seeking a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to design, secure, and operate our GCP-based cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role is ideal for an engineer currently working in AWS who is open to transition into Google Cloud, while applying their existing cloud expertise in a highly regulated, impactful healthcare environment.
You will help ensure our platform is scalable, reliable, and compliant with HIPAA and FDA requirements, building modern infrastructure and automation practices on GCP.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform (GKE, IAM, VPC, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage)
- Operate and secure Kubernetes environments (GKE)
- Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines with integrated security and compliance controls
- Manage IAM, identity, access control, and audit logging across systems
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, GCP Monitoring)
- Support compliance requirements, incident response, and disaster recovery processes
- Optimise performance, reliability, and cloud cost efficiency
Requirements
- Proven experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with GCP or AWS (or similar cloud platforms) and Kubernetes
- Experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD preferred)
- Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, and compliance-driven environments
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent
- Proficiency in Python or similar scripting/automation
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Interest in or experience transitioning from AWS to GCP is highly desirable
