Senior Quality Assurance Specialist – Galway
Location: Galway | Hybrid: 3 days per week in the office
We are recruiting a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist for a global technology company in Galway, working on large-scale mobile and IoT software solutions.
This is a hands-on senior QA role covering functional, integration, API, performance and automation testing, with an important focus on maintaining quality throughout the sprint and release lifecycle.
The Role
You will work within an Agile team, supporting sprint execution, feature and upgrade testing, release validation and production readiness. You will also work with development and architecture teams to investigate issues and help maintain the quality and stability of product releases.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute test strategies, plans and test cases
- Perform functional, integration, regression, API and performance testing
- Support feature, upgrade and release testing
- Use JMeter for performance and load testing
- Use tools such as AppDynamics and Fiddler to investigate issues
- Contribute to test automation and CI/CD
- Assist with customer-facing issue investigations
- Work closely with developers and architects to troubleshoot complex problems
- Ensure releases meet quality and readiness standards
- Contribute to improving QA and testing practices
What we are looking for
- 5+ years' experience in software QA
- Experience across functional, integration, regression and system testing
- Good experience with API testing and JMeter
- Experience with test automation and a programming language C# and Playwright would be an advantage
- Experience testing complex web and/or mobile applications
- SQL/database knowledge and understanding of CI/CD
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- AWS/Azure knowledge would be beneficial
