Senior .NET Developer – Galway

Galway | Hybrid | Permanent

We’re looking for a Senior .NET Developer to join a growing engineering team in Galway, working on a major transformation of a global SaaS platform.

This is a hands-on development role where you’ll work with modern .NET, cloud technologies, microservices, event-driven architecture and AI-assisted development.

The Galway R&D centre is also a global AI hub, so you’ll have the opportunity to work with AI coding tools, RAG and AI-powered product capabilities as part of your day-to-day development.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop cloud-native .NET services and REST APIs
  • Build new functionality while modernising existing .NET applications
  • Work with C#, .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework
  • Develop scalable microservices and event-driven applications
  • Work with SQL Server and relational databases
  • Use AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot as part of the development process
  • Contribute to AI/ML and RAG-powered features
  • Work with cloud technologies, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions and Agile ceremonies
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, UX and QA teams

What We're Looking For

  • Strong commercial experience developing software with C# and .NET
  • Excellent knowledge of .NET 8+, ASP.NET Core and Entity Framework Core
  • Experience building REST APIs and microservices
  • Strong SQL Server experience
  • Experience with cloud development, ideally Azure
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Git and CI/CD
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Experience with modern front-end technologies such as React, Vue or Blazor
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience modernising legacy .NET applications
  • Experience in accounting, fintech or payments
  • Kafka or other event-driven technologies
  • GraphQL
  • RAG, LLM or AI application development
  • Automated testing / Playwright
  • AWS experience

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a growing Galway R&D operation and work on a significant technology transformation rather than simply maintaining an existing product.

You’ll get exposure to modern .NET, cloud-native architecture, microservices and AI, while working on products used by thousands of customers internationally.

If you're a strong .NET engineer who enjoys hands-on development and wants to work with some of the newer AI-assisted engineering approaches, we'd like to hear from you.
